WWOOFing Documentary

Posted by admin on July 23rd, 2007

Want to be in a documentary about WWOOFing? A veteran WWOOFer is making a documentary about WWOOFing. I am a 50-year-old female filmmaker who has WWOOFed in 4 countries at 7 host farms over the last 3 years, and am looking for several characters that will be the stars of my next film documentary. The film’s working title is: No Tourists Allowed.

It aims to profile several WWOOFers of different ages, and personal goals, in a WWOOFing experience of their own. I will follow them on a new WWOOFing adventure and we will try to capture the challenges that you face in a new country and culture: living with strangers under their rules and restrictions while trying to fit in and help out and at the same time, do something meaningful for your own life.

What I hope to uncover is the true meaning of the term I coined: Travelling Deep, and how cultures both clash and mesh as we all share the human experience. WWOOFing has been an eye-opener and an exhilarating experience for me.

The film is destined for film festivals and possibly a television broadcaster down the road.
If you are interested in participating you can reach me personally by email. Please send me one paragraph on your most challenging wwoofing experience, how you felt and why it was so challenging. Plus all your contact info. I will write you back immediately and send you my questionnaire. Thanks so much.
