Quinta Bela Vista

Posted by belavista on July 22nd, 2007

Quinta Bela Vista offers free accommodation in the guestroom or a tent (please bring your own) in return for help on the quinta.

The owner of the quinta is a keen gardener and organic fruit and vegetables are available from the garden in season. The quinta is a little paradise - there are flowers, fruit trees, vines and climbing plants everywhere, little stone-walled gardens, and a river beach.

It’s an ideal retreat for nature-lovers and wildlife includes kingfishers, foxes, badgers and otters, alongside many and varied birds.

The basic, but comfortable, guestroom has a double bed, wardrobe, cupboards and shelving, a TV, and a woodburning stove for cosy winter evenings. Double doors lead out onto a private balcony with views to the river and the mountains beyond. Under the guestroom is a semi-outdoor kitchen with small gas oven/hob, a sink, cupboards and cooking utensils, and a table and chairs. Adjoining is a WC with solar shower.

The nearest village is 3km and has small shops, bars, and a riverside restaurant. Coja, a pretty riverside town with all facilities is 5km.

If you would prefer to camp, and/or would like to come with friends, there is space for tents.

The amount of work is flexible - you can work more hours per week for free accommodation, or fewer hours per week for a reduced rental price for accommodation.
